You need to purchase some saltwater test kits to test for things like calcium, ammonia, nitrates, etc.

It depends on the corals as they have different requirements. For stony corals some of the things you need to monitor (and the basic ones) are calcium, magnesium and alkalinity.

As soon as I can get enough funds for a working camcorder one of the videos I am going to do has to do with the entire dosing process.
December 18th, 2009 at 1:23 am
ok thanks

You can add magnesium if necessary on any size tank, just be sure to test your levels first before dosing.
December 18th, 2009 at 2:19 am
can you use this for a ten gallon reef tank or would you not recommend that.
December 18th, 2009 at 2:41 am
This is a magnesium additive.
Purple up has no where near the amount of magnesium that this solution does.
December 18th, 2009 at 2:49 am
so would this be the same as that Kent purple up. because didnt you say all it is supposed to do is put magnesium into your tank.
December 18th, 2009 at 3:26 am
You should contact Bulk Reef about that.
December 18th, 2009 at 3:31 am
I bought the Bulk reef supply magnesium chloride. Can i use this with epson salt? Are the measurements the same as the dow flake?
thanks!

I now run T5’s on all of my tanks and all bulbs get changed once a year.
December 18th, 2009 at 4:52 am
what kind of lighting on the tank behind you, and how often do you change bulbs?
December 18th, 2009 at 5:37 am
I would be happy to if I had a working camcorder.
Been without one for several months and have no funds for a new one.

Hi, How about a tour of the tank behind you. The canopy is much smaller than your 90g so I’m assuming it’s a different tank. Thanks!!!
