Question by KM82: Another question about the liver condition and using weight loss to treat it?
I keep reading these articles bout my fatty liver and inflammation (NASH) in which they say that rapid weight loss can worsen the disease. My gastroenterologist says it shouldn’t matter. Thing is when I had that blood test which showed liver enzyme elevation I was at 190 lbs but now after eating right (not starving but eating veggies, fruits, fiber, fish/chicken) and doing cardio everyday for 40 minutes, I have lost 15 lbs and now weight roughly about 173-174 lbs after 6-8 weeks. Have I harmed my liver? Is this considered rapid weight loss? To think that Im trying to heal it but end up harming it would really frustrate me. Someone please be clear and tell me what is “rapid weight loss” or weight loss that does damage to your liver than good.
